I have always felt awkward going to the doctor. I am often overwhelmed by questions and the feelings they might trigger. Being queer I sometimes feared outing myself and what that might entail. For me walking into BridgerCare I don’t have to worry about any of that. When I go in for an appointment I know that I can feel comfortable and safe. BridgerCare is a place I can walk in and be myself. I feel free to be curious and ask my doctor or MA questions that will fill gaps in my knowledge of my health and wellness, as well as, shed light on gaps I didn’t know existed. At Bridgercare I feel that I am supported no matter what my healthcare journey looks like.

As a member of the queer community, accessing healthcare can be very challenging. I am often met with judgment or misunderstanding within the healthcare system, or even more common is providers not having enough knowledge about LGBTQ+ specific health to provide medically accurate care. This has not been my experience at Bridgercare. The environment at Bridgercare is always welcoming and non-judgmental and they provide excellent, comprehensive care that is culturally competent and inclusive. The care I have received at Bridgercare is a huge improvement from all my previous healthcare experiences and is a resource that I am incredibly grateful for!

I found BridgerCare in college, needing health care on a student’s budget. In my mid-30s, with great health insurance and no longer living paycheck to paycheck, I thought the next step was to find a ‘real doctor’. That’s just what you do at that stage in life, right? I had a pressing medical need but was told I had to wait a couple months to be seen. That was unacceptable. Days later, I was back at BridgerCare, surrounded by people ready to take care of me. For two decades, BridgerCare has given me the information and support I need to take charge of my health.
When BridgerCare bills by insurance, a portion of my payment goes back to helping other patients who may be at a financial disadvantage. I love that in addition to receiving excellent care myself, choosing BridgerCare can help others in need as much as it helped me 20 years ago.

I came into Bridgercare for an IUD. I was dreading the experience beforehand (my sexual health is not something I am always comfortable discussing!) but the staff at Bridgercare immediately put my worries at ease. I felt very safe asking questions and the entire process was smooth and stress free. The staff gave me excellent recommendations on which birth control is right for me, and to this day I am very happy with my decision both to get an IUD and to go through Bridgercare. It was so wonderful to receive reproductive health care through a company that truly has my best interests at heart. Thank you for all the amazing work that you do!

I have been going to Bridgercare for the last 13 years, ever since I was a freshman at Montana State University. I first chose Bridgercare because of their sliding fee scale. During college, I had a part-time job at the mall so the sliding fee scale was what I relied on for affordable birth control and wellness exams. I continued to go to Bridgercare after college because of the compassionate and knowledgeable staff. Even though I no longer needed the sliding fee scale, I chose to go to Bridgercare because they always made me feel so comfortable and took the time to answer all of my questions. In 2016, during my annual exam, I had an abnormal pap result, which meant I was at the highest risk for developing cervical cancer in the future. Bridgercare performed my firsts colposcopy and then referred me to the Women’s Health center at the hospital for my LEEP treatment, which cleared up all the precancerous cells on my cervix. Since then, I have had clear margins and just over a year ago, I gave birth to a healthy little boy named Nicholas. I am so grateful for the care I have received at Bridgercare! They have been there for me every step of the way, and I just cannot thank them enough.
