Certified Nursing Assistant

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides patient support functions in the front office as well as in clinical roles to support Bridgercare’s mission and clinical services according to Title X guidelines. The CNA is under the direct supervision of the Nurse Supervisor.

Status: Full Time

  • 32-40 hrs/wk- No weekends!

  • $17-19 DOE

Position Responsibilities

Perform clinical support tasks including rooming patients, assessing vital signs, preliminary health history, performing rapid testing, providing results, and basic reproductive, birth control, and STI patient information. Accurately prepare lab specimens for transport to lab and order and receive labs per the electronic interface. Other responsibilities include:

 
  • Answering patient phone calls and listening/responding to medical voicemail

  • Assisting Providers and patients in contraceptive and reproductive clinical procedures and consenting patients for procedures.

  • Providing patient education as needed, under the supervision of our Medical Director

  • Participating in staff meetings and training as scheduled.

  • Communicating effectively orally and in writing; proficiency in computers required.

  • Coordinating and working cooperatively with fellow staff as well as independently.

  • Comfortably and respectfully discussing sensitive issues with clients, including patient care circumstances for purposes of scheduling and triage.

  • Learning and assisting in clinical support procedures including blood pressure, pregnancy tests, urine specimen collection, rapid lab testing, correct preparation of lab specimens for transport, and vaccine management and uploading in ImMTrax.

  • Performing inventory management of lab supplies

  • Performing patient follow-up as indicated

  • Obtaining case record information for reportable STIs and complete contact tracing

  • Other clinical support tasks as assigned by the Nurse Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent

  • Expertise and recent healthcare experience preferred, but not required

  • State of Montana CNA certification certification

  • Commitment to family planning philosophy and goals, including confidentiality, provision of services to adults and teens regardless of ability to pay, and comprehensive options counseling for unintended pregnancy and referral per Title X guidelines.
