It’s Valentine’s Day!! Whether you’re spending time with friends, a partner, family, or just yourself, it is our staff’s opinion that self-love and self-care should be paramount during this season of love. We put together this list of out staff’s favorite ways to participate in self-care and hope that you feel inspired to try out some of these methods!
Without Further Ado….
“Massage Therapy”
“Every Sunday, I schedule my self-care for the week and treat it like it’s an appointment with my boss to hold myself accountable. This looks different every week, but includes going to the gym, hiking with my dog, and doing paint-by-numbers while I listen to an audiobook. If I “miss” an appointment with myself, I reschedule it because rejuvenation is critical to all of the things I do! ”
“I love to spend time with my kiddo. Cuddling is the thing that brings me the most joy, but I also love to go for walks with her (she always holds my hand) or go to the hot springs together and I especially love it when she reads to me. I almost always fall asleep when she’s reading to me, but that doesn’t seem to bother her!”
“Epsom salt baths! Quiet time with my cat and a good book! Practicing saying “no” when I don’t feel up for something!”
“Getting outside to hike, trail run, ski, and bike!”
“Quality time with my spouse & kids, and walking our dogs!”
“I am a mani/pedi/spa treatment gal all the way! I do my own nails and a face and hair mask! Throw on some trash TV and spend the day relaxing and ignoring my responsibilities. Bonus points if I don’t have to leave the house and someone brings me food. ”
“My self-care changes with the seasons but always includes staying active (trail running is my favorite!), food that feeds my soul, and spending time with people I love!”
“The number one thing I do for self care is balancing solitude for myself, and the importance of being in community with my loved ones!”
“Something I do to show myself self-care/self-love is going to the gym! Or making new recipes with friends/family!😊”
“I escape to the mountains!”
“I love going to the movies and getting an unreasonably large bucket of popcorn!!”
“I love to spend time outside in the fresh air, whether that be a walk, skiing or enjoying a soak at the hot springs! Sunshine can definitely help during these dark winter months!”
“Reality TV binges with my dog in my lap and a glass of wine in hand!”
“Movement! I try to move my body every day. Some days its a walk or a run or trying a new sport! ”
“ I love to do crafts (embroidering, drawing, stained glass), I go on long walks with my dogs, and I read and listen to audiobooks!”
“I love meditating and one of my favorite ways to show self-love is by gratitude journaling! I like to write down at least 3 positive things that happened to me each day!”
“Going outside every day is a way I show myself love!”
“I like to spend time in nature either camping, biking or hiking. I always feel refreshed after spending time outside!”

“Cook a fun new food, read a good book, nap, or hit the gym!”
